For the TOK part of my portfolio I decided to reflect on my favorite assessment; the Theory of Knowledge Presentation. For this presentation, I worked with a partner and we were determined to prove the influence language has on our identities. The assignment consisted of a 20-minute online presentation in which we tried to analyze our question "To what extent is language a factor that affects our identity?" through a real-life situation. I believe that we did a good job analyzing, and also our thought process was well argumented, and we connected really well our topic to our RLS.

The part of my presentation I'd like to talk the most about is the connection I made between my first knowledge claim and my RLS, and the argumentation I made to relate them. I used one of my favorite novels "Born a Crime", and its author and main character's real-life story to talk about the essence that language carries who we are, and how we act. Trevor Noah struggles his whole life with his identity because of his skin color, and still, he finds a balance, and camouflage through languages. It eventually defined him more than what the naked eye could see, his skin.

I think this shows that I am reflective because I managed to gather all of my pieces of information and transform them into a well thought off exposition on the importance of language in how we are defined by society and ourselves. I managed to prove how a person's life can almost fully rely on the aspects that language brings with it, such as culture, history, costumes, and loyalty.

While working on my TOK presentation I learned that I am much more capable of deep analysis than I thought. I have really good argumentation, and I am very good at proving a point when I want to. This project is going to help me in the future because I know how to use language to my advantage. Since I want to be an actress, understanding the importance of language in a person's identity can even help me get into character and it can help me understand my character's life, past, and culture better.
