This evidence is about my IB film Portfolio. It consisted in created a 2-3 minute video while carrying a role. I took on the role of the director. However, I really took on every single role seen as I had to do it by myself. I chose to do the opening scene to a non existent movie which I called I'm not hungry. I've struggled with disordered eating my entire life and one of the things that helped me the most was watching a movie called "To the bone" starring Lily Collins.

I think it its important to create awareness about EDs in any way we can. So I filmed myself acting one the experiences I just to go to on a daily basis. I think this shows the skill of a communicator because I took upon the responsibility of sharing my knowledge in the best way I could.

I believe it was challenging because I didn't have the resources or the help I would've wanted to create my film but I did a good job. I learned that if I really try to accomplish something, I can.

Evidence 1:
Evidence 2:

The second evidence is my comparative study. This was part of my IB curriculum too and I must say it was my favorite. I am very proud of the outcome. I decided to compare Hustlers and Goodfellas, and I must say my analysis was really good and my editing was very good too. It took me forever to finish editing and getting the best outcome I could, but I think I managed to pull it off. This was very challenging because I was't a very good editor, however, I believe it turned out quite well. I learnt that I love analyzing the mise-en-scene in movies and that I can do it very well.

Evidence 3:

Last is my textual analisis. I analyzed a 5 minute scene from Moonlight and really went into the hidden messages of the film. I believe it was very well written and that it showcased some of my best skills. It was very challenging for me to research the hidden meanings of some of the things in the scene, but at the end I think I learn a lot more than just film. I learnt about the purpose of the movie and how the director manages to portray certain messages through the colors, the ideas, etc. It's amazing how a picture can signify so many different emotions. Moonlight is a whole educational film, mixed with entertainment. I will carry that with me forever; the ability to leave a mark without explicitly saying the message.
