Evidence 1: Story with a character

The assignment was the following: Write a story using one or more of the characters of the book, it can be fanfic, a stream of consciousness, or any genre you want, you can immerse yourself as a character if you want to.

I always have writer's block before I start writing a story, an essay, or basically anything I need to write. But the truth is I love writing, so I enjoy the writer's block just as much as I do any other part of the process.

For this particular task, I remember I rewrote my introduction at least 10 times. I would restart the whole story from scratch every time I would read a draft, and it wasn’t until the very due date that I got inspired, and I must say, I really liked how it turned out at the end. I made a well-written, meaningful story about Sybil Vane, and got a 10 on my assignment. I wrote a piece about how she was taken away from her life, and how she loses her freedom. I think it was very moving.

Through this assignment, I remembered how much I loved writing and being creative, and I believe it will help me in the future because it will perhaps inspire me to write one of my screenplays or simply any other creative assignment in college.

Evidence 2: Blog Posts

We were reading the novel 1984 and were instructed to create a blog as one of the characters, and every week we would post something new. We had a weekly assignment as inspiration to write about that week. I wrote as the main character of the story, and I loved getting to dive into his mind to write like him, to become him, to speak his thoughts. My blog was on Tumblr so it made it feel real.

At first, I faced a challenge that made it really difficult for me to create original blog posts like Winston. This was the fact that I had to talk like someone I could only imagine in my head. I had to create the whole picture on my head. However, I learned that I am a lot more creative than I give myself credit.

Evidence 3: IOA

My internal assessment was the single most important work I did for this subject in the last two years. I reflected for a few minutes on an extract from 1984. It took all of my concentration, analysis capabilities, and organization to get it right.

Despite the fact that I was extremely nervous, I performed impeccably for my taste. I now know I'm capable of doing analysis as such and doing it well. This has already had an impact on my life because it is one of the factors that hopefully helped me get the IB score I need for university.
